What are the entry requirements?
Learners should be at least 18 years old and should have the ability to manage the requirements of the level of the qualification. They must already hold a full Level 3 early years/childcare qualification. Learners must also be employed in a suitable Early Years setting.
How long is the qualification?
This qualification takes approximately 6 months to complete.
How much does the course cost?
The cost of the course is £1000 (monthly payment options are available). Alternately you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to cover the cost of the course. For this route, the course cost is £724.
Who is this course aimed at?
The level 4 qualification is aimed at providing continuous professional development to current level 3 practitioners working in the Early Years field. It embraces the wealth of experience of the level 3 early years workforce and equips them to use crucial leadership skills to mentor others across all roles and responsibilities in the early years workforce. Acquiring this qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and skills needed to work as an Advanced Practitioner in early years.
How is the course structured?
The Level 4 course is structured to be completed through independent, self-directed study. Your work will be marked by a tutor, who will provide feedback on each assignment to support your learning and development. To help guide your progress, each assignment includes a Hints and Tips document, along with useful links and resources. These are provided to support you in completing the tasks independently and to ensure you have access to relevant materials.

What is the role of a PANCo?
The Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator (PANCo) is responsible for health and wellbeing, and championing the importance of healthy eating and physical activity. They promote and lead positive change to create an environment that prevents obesity and supports the healthy development of children.
As a PANCo, you will gain extensive knowledge of physical activity and exercise guidelines for children, which means that you will be able to educate children, families and staff of the importance of healthy eating and keeping active.
