On Saturday (12th June 2021) footballer Christian Eriksen suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in the Euro 2020 Denmark v Finland game. Team members and medical staff acted incredibly quickly, giving him CPR on the pitch that ultimately saved his life. Basic life supporting skills are incredibly important for everyone to learn, and St John’s Ambulance have a Youtube channel with free videos teaching things such as CPR, how to control bleeding, and treating shock.
